The Warmbächli wasteland has developed into an urban highlight in Bern. Temporary use of the site was possible from 2016 to 2020. This unique location has made history in Bern.

A playground, urban gardening, legal graffiti walls , a pond with inviting seating, and much more were available for public use on the vacant lot. With numerous events, the Warmbächli vacant lot has developed into an open-air cultural venue. In 2018, our association, "Warmbächli Brache," received the City of Bern's Social Award for our non-profit work.

The Bus Stop Warmbächli collective breathed life into the derelict site for five years with great passion and dedication, running a bar with a difference. The Endegelände Festival emerged as a musical highlight during this time.

The association Zapf! created a place for microbreweries and beer enthusiasts in 2017 with the first beer festival in Bern.

The Heitere Fahne transformed the wasteland into a beautiful, colorful and cheerful magical world time and time again with colorful decorations, delicious food and atmospheric music.

When the Chnopf Circus arrived with its tractors and caravans, the children flocked to the show.

The Brache-Buch (Brake Book) gathers experiences, stories, memories, knowledge and information, making them accessible beyond the end of the temporary use.
